Starry

Before Starry entered my life I was surviving but not living. I barely left the house, struggled to be active and l hadn’t had a social life for years. I struggled to find motivation for anything and really had hit rock bottom.

I started looking into the possibility of assistance dogs and researching different breeds. After over a year of research I decided borzoi were a great fit and reached out to a breeder.

After a few months of waiting and meeting the pups, Starry came home at 9 weeks old. Raising a puppy isn’t easy but even though the hard parts I’ve never been happier! Starry is now 7 months old and my life has never been so rich.

I started assistance dog training with Wild Spirit Training where I’ve met amazing friends, then started showing Starry at 6 months which has opened up a whole new world for me! I have genuine friends again and really feel like I’m part of both the assistance dog and showing communities.

I’m no longer scared to leave the house, I’ve had the motivation to get diagnoses and help for the rest of my disabilities, been able to open up publicly about my struggles and start advocacy work again.

For the first time I’m years I’m not dreading the future and it’s all thanks to this amazing little dog and the love and help she gives me! She is my whole world and everything I do is for her, and I can’t wait for what’s to come next, together 🖤
